I LIKE THAT | NORTHEAST PARTY HOUSE – PASCAL CAVALIER
Northeast Party House is arguably one of my favourite local party bands. They have been steadily been spreading their unique yet familiar brand of dance-rock across the country as they’ve supported some of the hottest acts from Australia and around the world such as Does It Offend You Yeah (UK) and Kimbra, as well as performing stand out sets at Falls Festival 2011-2 and Pyramid 2010.

Their highly anticipated single ‘Pascal Cavalier’ meets and surpasses expectations as the Northeast Party House lads deliver a track that includes their trademark analog synth sounds, stuttering guitar hooks and phat rumbling bass lines.
This track is truly the perfect medium between Bloc Party and an early Foals, mixed with some super rad 80’s dance vibes. The considered use of synths contributes to the build throughout the song while managing to disguise stark textural contrasts between sections of the song so as not to detract from its overall cohesive structure.
I honestly believe that although these guys have one of the most energetic live shows you’ll ever come across, it’s really their wonderful musicianship that contributes to their output of stellar dance tracks that would see the most unlikely listeners jump up and down to.
‘Pascal Cavalier’ is available to purchase on iTunes on July 13, and their Melb single launch is at the Corner Hotel on the same day. Make sure you get your ticket now – it’s selling bloody fast!
