PLAYLIST | CRAYON FIELDS ‘NO ONE DESERVES YOU’ INFLUENCES PLAYLIST

Melbourne pop favourites and oxford shirt purveyors Crayon Fields are launching their six year overdue album No One Deserves You in Sydney and Melbourne on the 7th and 14th of November respectively, and to celebrate another helping of their style of synthetic pop romance the band’s frontman Geoffrey O’Connor has put together a playlist of influences for the record proper. Wasn’t that nice of him?

Check out the playlist below, which features the best duet I’ve ever heard; ‘Guilty’ by the eternally fabulous Barbra Streisand, duet-ing it the fuck up with Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees.  ‘Libertango’ by the effortlessly cool and consistently relevant Grace Jones, and ‘On The Line’ by the current prince of neo-soul, Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange. Pretty much, it’s full of 80s soul and pop worship, and you need to listen to it right now.

We also had a chat with Geoff about No One Deserves You itself, and whats been happening for the past six years, which you can check out here.
